Mariah Carey's Pink Regal

Well, what can I say? Ebay has done it again. I was looking at Buick Regals and came across this beauty. Most guys would be turned away from this car because of the "girly" color and interior. But that isn't the case for me. Here's a closer look at this car.

Even though this car is pink, that doesn't degrade the quality and respect of this car. None the less its still a Buick Regal. NOTE: ITS A BUICK REGAL. The person who obtained this car didn't know much about it. The engine size wasn't even described. If I were to make an educated guess I'd say that it's either a V6 or a V8. It would be a V6 more than a V8.

This car starred in the music video "Lover Boy" by Mariah Carey. The person that was selling the car listed the car at a starting price of $50,000. I was shocked at the price and waited to see if anyone bidded on it. When the auction ended there were no bids. Three days later the car was re-listed at a starting price of $35,000. I am not sure if the car was sold or not, but the reason that I think it didn't any bids is because of the shallow description of the car. Not only that but the owner told everyone that he had won it on an MTV contest. Since he got it for free, who would spend the money on it if they knew that its value was $0?

Sure the car was famous and it might be of value to a hardcore Mariah Carey fan, but if you were to review the music video that it was in, you'll probably be shocked. The cars' total time in the video was a whopping 5 seconds. That's right FIVE SECONDS. The car drove across the screen, while Mariah Carey sat on the top of the roof for three seconds. It was later seen at the end of the video for an additional 2 seconds. I was not very impressed. For 5 seconds of fame, this person wants to make a quick buck and sell it for $35,000 or more? Give me a break.

The cars' value is not based on because it was in a music video, but because of the custom paint job, custom interior, custom roof, custom hydraulic shocks. That's is the where the cars' real value is. This car is worth a lot because of the features it has. The chrome performance tires (shown in the pictures) that are for bouncing the car, not for everyday driving. This is the only Buick Regal, that I have seen, that was a convertable. Even though its not a full convertible, it's still nice and rare. The paint was custom done by Candy, Inc. located in L.A.

This is a 1982 Buick Regal with 92,587 miles. I think that someone else owned the car before it was featured in the music video. Due to the fact that I don't think that anyone would put that many miles on a car and drove it around like that. My 1984 Buick Regal has 96,000 miles, and it was driven everyday. So, I'm guessing that who ever sold this car, sold it to someone that wanted to customize the enitre car and put it in the music video. This cars' interior looks so much more different than the other cars that are located on this site. The interior job done on this car is outstanding.

Searching through the pictures of this car, I came across the last picture of these six. An open picture of the trunk. Who ever did the custom job on this car went as far as the trunk. The only thing that this car is useful for is showing off in car shows, making money on, or just collecting it because of its history. I do not have an accurate value of this car because I am not really interested in getting a Regal or Grand National with hydraulics or custom interior. I would like to get a value of this car because of its features, not cause of its history. I'm sure when I get around to it I'll search for its value.
